La multi ani DON PEDRO!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!

Dear Friends,

Next week will be my 70th birthday, I feel very happy and more than privileged to have been able to share this adventure with you, of going from analog to digital during these past eleven years of our presence with ZoneZero.

I want to thank you for making this into such a world wide community of people who want to explore the potentials of what these technologies have had to offer us.

We have always endeavored to put content at the center of all that we have presented, while bringing all possible technologies to support such efforts.

Probably one of the more important things that have taken place from a technological point of view, is that all the viewers who visit us, have direct access to comment and establish a dialogue directly with the photographers showing their work here in ZoneZero.

I can not begin to tell you all the connections that have been created in the process, something that very few other publishing platforms can offer. Thus we are very confident that the internet has been a definite contribution to the world of photography.

We have seen nothing yet of all that the digital revolution has in store for us as band width expands and computers become increasingly more powerful and sophisiticated.

There are however some limitations, a handful of countries have blocked ZoneZero, as containing inappropiate material arguing that the people in their countries should not be allowed to see such images. We disagree with this censorship and find that it is up to the individuals to make up their own minds what they want to see or not, rather than have that decided upon by governments.

Of course we understand the diverse sensibilities across the cultural diversity that a site such as ours, which is world wide, has to contend with. But then we have nothing more to guide us than the integrity of the images and authors whose work we have presented. We hope that in the process of bringing such a diversity of work as can be seen in ZoneZero, we did not offended all that many people. Pleasing everyone is an impossible proposition when working with ideas and explorations.

In the process we have brought you the work of 1350 photographers. 70 countries are represented in this wide spectrum of photography. With over fifty million page views (yes!, you read correctly, 50,000,000) in these past twelve months, so you can rest assured that all this work has been seen all over the world, thus transforming many old paradigms of publishing, exhibiting and distributing photographs.

Your presence and participation in ZoneZero has been one of the greatest gifts you could have given us, so thank you! Let us hope that the next few decades are as exciting as the recent past.

Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river
You can hear the boats go by
You can spend the night beside her
And you know that she's half crazy
But that's why you want to be there
And she feeds you tea and oranges
That come all the way from China
And just when you mean to tell her
That you have no love to give her
Then she gets you on her wavelength
And she lets the river answer
That you've always been her lover
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that she will trust you
For you've touched her perfect body with your mind.
And Jesus was a sailor
When he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching
From his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain
Only drowning men could see him
He said "All men will be sailors then
Until the sea shall free them"
But he himself was broken
Long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone
And you want to travel with him
And you want to travel blind
And you think maybe you'll trust him
For he's touched your perfect body with his mind.
Now Suzanne takes your hand
And she leads you to the river
She is wearing rags and feathers
From Salvation Army counters
And the sun pours down like honey
On our lady of the harbour
And she shows you where to look
Among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed
There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever
While Suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that you can trust her
For she's touched your perfect body with her mind.

Sunt mai multe feluri de yoga. Uite aici cate ceva despre subiect daca te intereseaza, numai ca e in engleza textul. Regrete sincere ca nu l-am tradus.

<"i>Yoga is a form of mysticism that developed on the Indian subcontinent in the Hindu cultural context. Its origin is impossible to trace, because it dates back to before recorded history. Yoga comes in many forms specifically designed to suit different types of people. As a result, some forms of yoga have gained significant popularity outside India, particularly in the West during the past century.

The word Yoga originates from the Sanskrit word "Yuj" (literally, "to yoke") and is generally translated as "union" - "integration" - to yoke, attach, join, unite. Yoga is therefore the union and integration of every aspect of a human being, from the innermost to the external. According to Yoga experts, the union referred to by the name is that of the individual soul with the cosmos, or the Supreme.

Yoga has both a philosophical and a practical dimension. The philosophy of yoga ("union") deals with the nature of the individual soul and the cosmos, and how the two are related. The practice of yoga, on the other hand, can be any activity that leads or brings the practitioner closer to this mystical union - a state called self-realization. Over thousands of years, special practical yoga techniques have been developed by experts in yoga, who are referred to as Yogis (male) and Yoginis (female).

These Yoga techniques cover a broad range, encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual activities. Traditionally, they have been classified into four categories or paths: the path of meditation (Raja Yoga), the path of devotion (Bhakti Yoga), the path of selfless service to the Divine (Karma Yoga), and the path of intellectual analysis or the discrimination of truth and reality (Jnana Yoga). The most conspicuous form of yoga in the West, Hatha Yoga - consisting of various physical and breathing exercises and purification techniques - is actually the third and the fourth stages of Ashtanga Yoga of Yoga Sutras by Patanjali.

Clients and friends enjoy Yoga as means of bringing balance into their lives. They report greater clarity in their meditations and a sense of releasing issues that hold them back.

Yoga enhances every facet of physical fitness the mind/body energy exchange supports a mental clarity and concentration. The strength improves posture/alignment to support our daily activities. The flexibility helps to prevent injuries and keeps us supple and youthful. The breathing practices are the foundation and the link between the mind and the body, providing a valuable tool for releasing tension and reducing stress.

The practice of yoga teaches us how to quiet the mind by placing attention on the breath, and also on the movement (stillness) of the body. "

Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
You've taken lots of chances before
But I ain't gonna give any more
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
'Cause part of me knows what you're thinking...
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusaation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
Iam the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind

Don't leave false illusions behind
Don't cry 'cause I ain't changing my mind
Soo find another fool like before
'Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceivïng

Lenny Kravitz - Can't get you off my mind

Life is just a lonely highway
I'm out here on the open road
I'm old enough to see behind me
But young enough to feel my soul
I don't wanna lose you baby
And I don't wanna be alone
Don't wanna live my days without you
But for now I've got to be without you

I've got a pocket full of money
And pocket full of keys that have no bounds
But then I think of lovin'
And I just can't get you off of my mind

Babe can't you see
That this is killing me
I don't want to push you baby
And I don't want you to be told
It's just that I can't breathe without you
Feel like I'm gonna lose control

I've got a pocket full of money oh yes I do
And a pocket full of keys that have no bounds
But when it comes to lovin'
I just can't get you off of my mind, yeaaah

Am I a fool to think that there's a little hope
Yeah yeahhhhhheee yeah
Tell me baby, yeah
What are the rules the reasons and the do's and don'ts
Yeah yeahhhhhheee yeah
Tell me baby tell me baby, yeah
What do you feel inside?

I've got a pocket full of money
And a pocket full of keys that have no bounds
Oh yeah
But when it comes down to lovin'
I just can't get you off of my mind, yeah
I just can't get you off of my mïnd, yeah.

more times to see if you can outsmart your foot. But you can't!!

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right
hand. Your foot will change direction.

I told you so... And there is nothing you can do about it.

Violent dreams may hint at why dreaming evolved, researchers say
Oct. 18, 2005
Special to World Science

Twenty years ago, scientists discovered a bizarre disorder whose victims act out their dreams while asleep, often hurting themselves or their spouses in the process.
One patient kicked a hole in his bedroom wall, according to a paper published in a medical journal. Another tried to jump out a window. A third fired an unloaded gun, a fourth attempted to set his bed on fire. Still others tried to choke their wives.
Now, scientists say a new study has provided surprising insights into the condition, suggesting patients tend not only to act out their dreams, but to have many more violent ones than other people.

This, in turn, hints that the disorder could shed light on an old debate, the researchers claim: why dreams evolved, and what function they serve. One theory that deserves particular attention in light of the findings, they add, is that dreams evolved as a way to mentally rehearse threatening situations.

Dreams appear “severely altered” in the disorder, known as REM Sleep Behavior Disorder or RBD, wrote the researchers in the Oct. 11 issue of the research journal Neurology. Their study of 98 patients found that the patients reported having violent dreams more than four times as often as healthy people.

This was striking, the researchers added, especially given that past research has shown aggression, misfortune and other negative thoughts tend to weigh prominently even in healthy people’s dreams.

Yet the sleep disorder patients were no more violent in real life than ordinary, the researchers wrote, and some past reports have suggested they may be even less so.

The prevalence of the disorder is unknown, but estimates have ranged from 0.5 percent to 1 percent of the population. Patients are most often men, usually middle-aged or older.

The REM in the name of the condition stands for Rapid Eye Movement, a phase of sleep normally associated with dreaming. The name reflects the fact that patients act out their dreams. This isn’t the case with sleepwalking, a separate condition, which normally occurs in a different phase of sleep.

RBD is usually treatable. Doctors often prescribe the drug Clonazepam for the condition. Some physicians also argue that many cases can be treated without drugs, by taking steps to make the bedroom safer.

Patients often flail, kick and punch in their sleep. This often leads to injuries, though no deaths have been reported. If awoken, patients will often say they were dreaming of fending off attackers, protecting their families from intruders or running from a threat.

Healthy people don’t act out their dreams because the brain has a mechanism for immobilizing the body during the dreaming stage of sleep. But this mechanism malfunctions in RBD.

In the new study, Maria L. Fantini and colleagues at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy, decided to see if patients also experience different types of dreams. Past reports suggested patients had more vivid or violent dreams, but the issue hadn’t been studied in detail, according to Fantini and colleagues.

They asked participants in their study simply to describe the most recent dream or dreams they could recall. Sixty-six percent of sleep disorder patients recounted at least one violent dream, compared with 15 percent of healthy people who were surveyed for comparison.

The patients’ dreams also tended to have different casts of characters, which may have been related to the threatening themes: more animals, and more strangers. But “Interestingly, sexual elements in dreams were never reported by patients,” wrote the researchers.

The violent dreams and the uncontrolled body movements in RBD likely result from the same underlying brain problem, Fantini and colleagues wrote —possibly hyperactivity in the brain stem, a primitive part of the brain connected to the spinal cord. A leading theory claims the brain stem is at the root of a brain network for dreaming.

Fantini and colleagues also said the findings draw attention to another theory, which addresses why dreaming evolved rather than how it physically occurs.

Proposed by Finnish psychologist Antti Revonsuo five years ago, the theory holds that dreaming evolved as a way to rehearse threatening situations, so that the dreamer can better handle them in real life.

For the vast majority of time that humans were evolving, the most common threatening situation was a wild animal attack, Fantini and colleagues noted. Dreams may reflect this.

Children dream particularly often of animal or monster attacks, they added. This may reflect that stage of evolution most closely, the researchers said, since all organisms tend to share traits with their evolutionary ancestors most closely when they’re young.

“Interestingly, in the present study, dreams in RBD were characterized by similar percentages of aggression and animal characters to those reported in children,” Fantini and her team wrote.

Consistent with their findings, they wrote, Revonsuo “suggested that RBD may originate from an inappropriate activation of the [brain’s] threat-simulation system, leading to an intensive threat simulation during dreams.”

1.The power of love - Celine Dion

The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling like thunder now
As I look in your eyes

I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

(First chorus)
'Cause I am your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

Lost is how I'm feeling lying in your arms
When the world outside's too
Much to take
That all ends when I'm with you

Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

(Repeat first chorus)

(Second chorus)
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear
Suddenly the feeling that I can't go on
Is light years away

2.De vei pleca - Iris & Felicia Filip

De vei pleca, sa iei cu tine
Doar noptile in ca re noi am fost
Uitarea vine...te rog sa-mi spui
Acum ce are rost...

3.Cerul - Proconsul

Pasii mei s-au ascuns in umbra ta

Daca cerul ar putea sa te-aduca in viata mea
As culege in palma o stea sa te am pe tine

Lumea mea s-a inchis in clipa in care

Daca cerul ar putea sa te-aduca in viata mea
As culege in palma o stea sa te am pe tine

Acum cand noapte vine
Te vreau iar langa mine
Parfumul tau pe perna
Ma rascoleste.

Daca ar putea sa te-aduca in viata mea
As culege in palme o stea sa te am pe tine
Daca cerul ar putea sa te-aduca in viata mea
As culege in palma o stea sa te am pe tine

Cine are rabdare sa citeasca s-o faca, cine nu sa lase balta subiectul...

"I can recite the grass on the hill and memorize the moon
I know the cloudforms of love by heart
And have brought tears to the eye of a storm
And my memory banks vaults of forests and amazon river banks
And i've screamed them into sunsets that echo in earthquakes
Shadows have been my spotlight
As I monologue the night
And dialogue with days
Soliloquies of wind and breeze applauded by sun rays
We put language in zoos to observe caged thought (...)"

"I played connect the dots with your beauty marks
And I ended up with picture perfect sheet music
I read your musical notes with a composer's eyes
And heard out song for the first time
My spine is still tingling, mental images of your fine tune
Is what I've been nodding my head to lately
Every now and then you can catch me humming
Your nudity under my heavy breath
I heavily suggest you resurrect
Your ancient neglected dust collector
If you distrust the distance in my seldom plucked heart strings
Sit stripped before your full length
Perform your reflection backwards
Maybe then you will understand the rhythm in my movement
Listen when the news is sent
Extend when the rules are bent
I'll be waiting to take your leave
Make me a victim of your two step
Make me an apprentice of your body parts
Teach me to dance to your beauty marks
I'm stepping on toes here and I don't care
It's hopeless, it's hopeless
It's hopelessness holding this openess to blow a kiss
So close your lips but don't get pissed
And throw a fist at this vocalist
I'm not emotionless, in fact I broke my wrist
When I wrote the list of all those I miss
This is my poker face, Mister Feel Nothing"
Sage Francis - Hopeless

I'm ready for life in this city
And my wings have grown almost enough to lift me
I'm a dinosaur with Jones Beach in my hourglass
Passing the time with serial killer coloringbooks and bags of marbles
Don't tell me you ain't the droid that held the match to the charcoals
Don't tell me Lucifer and God don't carpool
(This is our school)
I'm not trying to graduate to life at the curse on the lounge barstool
Head in a jar on the desk, feet dangling in a shark pool
(Man please) Man please
My name stands for my being
And my being stands for the woman who stood
And braved the storm could raise this evening
(Brother sun, sister moon, mother beautiful)
Yeah middle sibling suitable but far from son of excellence
(...) And I ain't getting any younger
My knuckles wear their bruises well
I've yet to lose that hunger
But only time can tell
Prodigal Son with a prodigal wish to sew that prodigal stitch
And crucify bigot voodoo doll on two popsicle sticks
See your name is Ambiguity
My name is something hands can't hold
But hearts part ocean scapes just to watch the starlet unfold (...)"

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

By Ron Rovtar

Where exactly is the stock photography industry headed during the next ten to 15 years?

Definitely, somewhere very different from where it is today. If changes during the last decade have been phenomenal, those that occur between now and the year 2020 will be breathtaking.

And, as we discussed in previous articles, the stock industry's future may be very different from what many industry experts predict. Most of us -- experts included -- crave an orderly universe that behaves like the theoretical objects described by Sir Isaac Newton's First Law of Motion.

A moving object, Newton told us, continues moving in the same direction at the same speed unless acted on by an outside force. A clean and understandable explanation -- until you get to those last seven words.

Like it or not, the world is filled with "outside forces."

The stock industry is no exception.

Based on current "motion" within the industry, many observers believe big stock distributors will continue to strengthen their hold on the stock industry. Many think traditional royalty-free will slowly eat away at rights-managed image sales. However, as we noted in the first two articles of this series, things are not always simple.

The first article - - suggested that industry consolidations may just be the market's effort to clean up what is left of an old business paradigm, perhaps stabilizing it under the auspices of a few larger companies. The article proposed that the rapid spread of technology (an "outside force") could create new, more efficient paths to the market and may soon let independent stock photographers bypass traditional distributors altogether.

The second article argued that the market for royalty-free imagery is, for several reasons, probably peaking. Pressure from subscription services, the inability to control theft of royalty-free content, and changes in the kinds of images demanded by graphic designers, publishers and advertising firms were among the reasons cited.

The doors are open today to our new feature at
Photosource International: PhotoSourceGROUP
You’ll find us at

PhotoSourceGROUP is a unique image-display site that locates hard-to-find photos in seconds for the buying public- commercial clients, photobuyers at magazine and book publishers, and private parties.
Photobuyers worldwide come to PhotoSourceGROUP to view your images by a targeted search method established and proved successful for 6 years by PhotoSource International, and adapted now to partner with PhotoSourceGroup for the benefit of photographers and photobuyers.

How does it work? We own a unique keyword-finding system that saves the buyer time (and money) the “just right” image for their publishing project. By using our PhotoSourceBANK (where photographers list up to 3,000 words describing their photo collection) photobuyers find the SOURCE (the photographer) of a photo or photos in the subject area they are seeking.

Stage two, the photobuyer is automatically connected to your pages on the PhotoSourceGROUP site where they can see the actual image. If the photo is not immediately available among the group of images you have posted on PhotoSourceGROUP, the buyer will immediately e-mail you requesting a LightBOX version of the picture through our QuikAlert system.

In addition to using the PhotoSourceBANK search system, our promotional materials encourage photobuyers to use a search engine such as Google.

In the search bar, the photobuyer simply types in a word or phrase describing their picture need, a space, and then the word photosource. This re-directs the buyer immediately to the PhotoSourceBANK / PhotoSourceGROUP site. We have had the text search partners, PhotoSourceBANK, up and running successfully for photographers since 1999.

PhotoSourceGROUP handles all transactions, billing
and delivery. Photographers receive 75% of sales.

Another advantage you have with PhotoSourceGROUP is name recognition. Our business has been dealing with photobuyers at magazine and book publishers for 30 years, long before the days of the Internet, and has been one step ahead of the digital revolution ever since. Our new PhotoSourceGROUP advanced website is an example of this.

Photobuyers prefer to spend their valuable time with a business that has a proven track record and where they know they can get results.

Imi scrie un amic - de Dinu Lazar la: 03/12/2005 19:06:47

I am writing to let you know of a new Photography Forum I have started to help everybody from the seasoned Professional to the Amateur first picking up a camera. Covering everything from weddings to Landscapes and everything in between.
I have started a forum on my website at . It's quite basic at the moment but I feel it has all the necessary sections to help most photographers. There is a suggestions page that hopefully will let me know what people want.
I started my career as have many other "pro" photographers I know by taking portraits and weddings as favours for friends. I then went to college and gained the qualifications I needed.
I have now been a professional photographer for 8 years and I remember first starting on my journey into photography. I had loads of questions but nobody to ask them. I read as much as I could but most of the magazines used to cover the same topics over and over again.
I was lucky I managed to assist a professional photographer for a couple of years before I "Took the Plunge". It's the best move I have ever made.
There is no registration fee or monthly subscription I am doing this purely because business has given me and my family so much that I thought it was time to put something back in. Sounds a bit corny but it's the truth.
I am trying to get as many "like minded people" into the forum so we can share our knowledge and experiences and hopefully all improve.
Please have a look at the forum and maybe, if you like it recommend it to your colleagues. I hope it is of help.
