Merita totusi citit.

Ca toate popoarele primitive, Maya erau foarte religiosi fiind sclavi ai superstitiilor proprii. Ei credeau ca Hunab au creat lumea itzamna fiind domnul Raiului si prietenul oamenilor. Mitul creatiei la Maya este foarte ingenios. Creatorul a strigat “Pamant” si Pamantul a aparut.

In anii 1480 o teribila epidemie de “small pox” a locuit Yucatanul decimandu-i pe locuitori, transformand locurile in pustiuri, templele ramanand ca abandonate. Sa fie acesta “misterul” locului? In felul acesta, in 1526-1535 conchistadorilor spanioli le-a fost usor sa-i cucereasca.

Tragedie in lumea fotografiei mondiale. - de Dinu Lazar la: 24/01/2004 04:49:16

Photographer Helmut Newton Killed in Crash

LOS ANGELES - Acclaimed fashion photographer Helmut Newton died Friday after his car sped out of control from the driveway of the famed Chateau Marmont hotel and crashed into a wall, police said. He was 83.

AP Photo

Newton, whose work appeared in magazines such as Playboy, Elle and Vogue, was best known for his stark, black-and-white nude photos of women.

Newton apparently lost control of his Cadillac while leaving the Hollywood hotel, said Officer April Harding, a police spokeswoman. It was unclear whether he became ill while driving.

People were on the sidewalk in front of the driveway, and the car brushed a photographer heading into the hotel before crashing into the wall.

Newton was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he died a short time later, Harding said.

Newton was a trailblazer in the fashion photography world, exploring power, gender roles and an icy sexuality in his pictures.

His trademark "Big Nudes" series featured larger-than-life, black-and-white images of women that portray them as dominating the camera rather than as subjects.

Among the beautiful and powerful people Newton has photographed were Paloma Picasso, Pierre Cardin, Naomi Campbell, Jean-Marie Le Pen and Claudia Schiffer.

While Newton also photographed clothed celebrities and nature scenes, he favored photographing women, usually while they wore little more than high heels.

"He was a giant," said Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. "He was a major talent that pushed the boundaries in terms of photography and influenced many, many other photographers in following generations."

The German-born photographer said in his 2002 autobiography that when he was 15, he told his father he wanted to be a photographer. The Berlin factory owner told him, "My boy, you'll end up in the gutter. All you think of is girls and photos."

Newton, who was Jewish, fled his homeland for Singapore in December 1938, a month after Nazi-led persecution programs began. He eventually settled in Australia and became a citizen, opening a small photography studio and changing his last name to Newton from Neustaedter.

He later took up residence in Monte Carlo, overlooking the Mediterranean — a frequent backdrop for his nude images.

In the prologue to his autobiography, he said his fascination with women dated back to when he was a toddler and recalled seeing his nurse "getting ready to go out, and she is half-naked" in front of a mirror. He described it as a defining moment in his life.

In October, he donated more than 1,000 pictures to a new gallery in Berlin, saying he was proud his work would now be on display in his hometown.

Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder called Newton's decision a "sign of reconciliation."

"You can chase a man out of his home but you can't rip his home out of his soul," Schroeder said in a letter read at the news conference announcing the donation.

Newton's coldly erotic imagery often alarmed feminists as well as those with tamer sensibilities.

A hosiery ad he shot, featured on a giant billboard in Times Square for a time, was banned from the side of New York City buses in 1998 because it was deemed to be too racy. It showed a rear-end view of a woman lying face-down, wearing only a pair of stockings. A side view of her bare breast also was visible.

Newton is survived by his wife, June, who works under the name Alice Springs. She was also a favorite subject for the photographer. In one 1973 series of photos, she was portrayed as Hitler wearing a cropped mustache, with model Jerry Hall posing as Eva Braun. The Newtons had no children.

Deci ar iesi in castig oricum si ar avea si casa sau masina si banii.

Simplu, nu-i asa?

One day, in line at the cafeteria, Bob says to Stanley behind him, "My elbow hurts like hell. I guess I better see a doctor."

"Listen, you don't have to spend that kind of money," Stan replies "There's a diagnostic computer down at Wal-Mart. Just give it a urine sample and the computer'll tell you what's wrong and what to do about it. It takes ten seconds and costs ten dollars...a lot cheaper than a doctor."

So Bob deposits a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Wal-Mart. He
deposits ten dollars, and the computer lights up and asks for the urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits. Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout:

"You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy activity. It will improve in two weeks."

That evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Jack began wondering if the computer could be fooled. He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and masturbated into the mixture for good measure.

Bob hurries back to Wal-Mart, eager to check the results. He deposits ten dollars, pours in his concoction, and waits.

The computer prints the following:
1. Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener.
2. Your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo.
3. Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab...
4. Your wife is pregnant. Twins. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.
5. If you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better.

And, as always, thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.
Hotzii... cine sunt hotzii???? - de Dinu Lazar la: 19/05/2004 15:25:37

Who Are The Thieves?
````````````````````
Once a year, it seems, a question about thievery on the Internet comes up.
As I've written before -- thievery on the Web is certainly possible. With today's software capabilities, it's possible to 'res up' a 72 dpi image to 300 dpi with excellent results.
So, technically it's possible to "steal images" by capturing small images on the Web and increasing their resolution. In my book, sellphotos.com, I give some examples of misguided improper use of photos.
One example: A commercial printing company executive used a previously published photo from the company's digital file for unauthorized use in a commercial brochure. The photographer took him to court. And rightly so. But the infraction was a mistake -- not outright thievery.
As we rush pell-mell along in the new Digital Age, of course some honest mistakes are going to be made. We're all entitled to a few of those.
NOT OUR PHOTOBUYERS
However, since the emphasis at PhotoSource International is on editorial stock photography, not studio pictures, not commercial stock photos, we should keep in mind just who we are apprehensively thinking may steal a photo. Our markets are books and magazines. And relax: photobuyers at book and magazine publishing houses don't steal photos.
Nor do commercial art directors. The negative fall-out would be too damaging. But as I say, commercial photography is not our bailiwick. We have a greater advantage being editorial stock photographers-- we produce pictures that can easily be identified because of their uniqueness. We need to examine whether we're putting too much worry into a concern that does not deserve it.
A rare few early mistakes have been made as everyone gets introduced to the Digital Age. This has been a learning process for executives and printing company personnel as well as the general public, who are now learning the benefits of the Web. Eventually ignorance on appropriate handling of photos will diminish.
You won't find your photobuyers at publishing houses and magazines exhibiting such ignorance.
LURKING IN CYBERSPACE?
But the question is... "Is thievery rampant, or even existent, on the Web?"
Ever since photographers began realizing that it's possible for someone to "borrow" an image from the Web, I've heard warnings from my fellow camera columnists that thieves are lurking in cyberspace, waiting to steal your photos. Certain pros in our industry often perpetuate the myth at seminars and camera club meetings. They warn that photographers should beware, and that they should not expose images on the Web unless they are so tiny that someone could not profitably make use of them.
Imi pare rau ca nu am rabdarea si timpul de a traduce in R. din engleza,totusi stiu ca voi toti sunteti inteligenti si veti intelege totul.
"When you begin a great work you can't expect to finish it all at once;therefore do you and your brothers press on,and let nothing discourage you till you have entirely finished what you have begun?
Now brother,as for me,I assure you I will press on,and the contrary winds may blow strong in my face,yet I will go forward and never turn back,and continue to press forward untill I have finished,and I would have you do the same....
Though you may hear birds singing on this side and that side,you must not take notice of that,but hear me when I speak to you,and take it to heart,
for you may always depend that what I say shall be true."
You must not hurt anybody or do harm to anybody.You must not fight.Do right always.It will give you satisfaction in life.
If the white man wants to live in peace with the indian,he can live in peace.
Give them all the same law.Give them all a chance to live and grow.
All men were made by the same Great Spirit Chief.They are all brothers.
The earth is the Mother of all people,and all people should have equal rights upon it.
You might as well expect the rivers to run backward as that any man who was
born a free man should be contented when penned up and denied liberty to go where he pleases.
If you tie a horse to a stake,do you expect he will grow fat?
If you pen an indian up on a small spot of earth,and compell him to stay there,he will not be contented,nor will he grow and prosper."
de cand se traduce "jew" prin "jidan"(termen insultator)?
N-am intentionat sa jignesc pe nimeni si nu stiam ca "jidan" e un termen insultator; daca e imi cer scuze. Cum s-ar traduce atunci? --- ca n-am un dictionar englez-roman la indemina.
defect that the defined word is included in adjectival form in the definition.
The same flaw occurs in part of the new definition enacted by the Israeli
Parliament in..1970, according to which a person is a Jew if he or she is the
offspring of a Jewish mother or has been converted to the Jewish faith by the
Orthodox Rabbinate or by the Rabbis of the Jewish Reform Movement or by the
Rabbis of the Jewish Conservative Movement.
2 a transf. and offensive. As a name of opprobrium: spec. applied to a
grasping or extortionate person (whether Jewish or not) who drives hard
bargains.
In medieval England, Jews, though engaged in many pursuits, were particularly
familiar as money-lenders, their activities being publicly regulated for them
by the Crown, whose proteges they were. In private, Christians also practised
money-lending, though forbidden to do so by Canon Law. Thus the name of Jew
came to be associated in the popular mind with usury and any extortionate
practices that might be supposed to accompany it, and gained an opprobrious
sense.
A NATIONAL ACROBAT(From Sabbath Bloody Sabbath)
I am the world that hides the universal secret of all time.
Destruction of the empty spaces is my one and only crime.
I've lived a thousand times,I found out what it means to be believed,
The thoughts and images,the uborn child of Devil that never was conceived.
When little worlds collide,I'm trapped inside my embryonic cell
And flashing memories are cast into the never ending well.
The name that scorns the face,the child that never sees the cause of man
The deathly darkness that belies the fate of those who never ran...
Well I know it's hard for you to know the reason why
And I know you'll understand more when it's time to die,
Don't believe the life you have will be the only one,
You have to let your body sleep,to let your soul live on.
Love has given love to you and now it's your concern
Unseen eye of inner life will make your soul return,oh yeah,
Still I look but not to touch,the seeds of life are sown
Curtain of the future falls,the secret stays unknown
Just remember love is life and hate is living death
Treat your life for what it's worth and live for every breath,
Looking back,I lived and learned but now I'm wondering
Here I wait and only guess,what this next life will bring....?
Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908 – 2004), fotograf - OMAGIU - de ovidiusimina la: 11/08/2004 10:54:33
(la: O conversatie cu DINU LAZAR, fotograf)
« Au fond, ce n’est pas la photo en soi qui
m’interesse. Ce qui je veux c’est de capter une
fraction de seconde du réel »
Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908 – 2004)
===================================================
Kingdoms of the world in a moment
Aug 5th 2004, From The Economist print edition
http://www.economist.com/cities/displaystory.cfm?story_id=3071607
Henri Cartier-Bresson, whose photographs defined the
20th century, died on August 3rd at the age of 95
ALTHOUGH his name was familiar almost everywhere, far
more so indeed than his work, Henri Cartier-Bresson
himself was not a familiar sight. With his alert blue
eyes and a coloured handkerchief knotted round his
neck, he would wander the streets near his home on
Paris's rue de Rivoli and seldom be recognised. One of
the greatest photographers of the 20th century was
himself rarely photographed.
In his lifetime, he travelled to all corners of the
earth, capturing images of some of the most
extraordinary moments of 20th-century history—the
Spanish civil war, the liberation of Paris after the
second world war and the funeral of Mahatma Gandhi. At
the same time he framed and preserved less famous
moments, elevating them with his genius so that they
somehow seemed to capture the essence of life itself.
His unequalled ability to seize a millisecond in time
was uncanny. In his book “The Decisive Moment”,
published in 1952, he wrote: “It is the simultaneous
recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the
significance of an event as well as a precise
organisation of forms, which give that event its
proper expression.” He was never very interested in
the technology of photography, in the effects that
could be obtained during developing and editing in a
dark room. It was all about the thrill of the chase,
the chance to seize a moment.
The man who first inspired Mr Cartier-Bresson was a
photographer called Martin Munkacsi, whose picture of
naked African boys running into Lake Tanganyika in
1931 persuaded him to take photography seriously. “I
couldn't believe that such a thing could be caught on
camera,” he said, “so I grabbed my Leica and went out
into the street.”
Between 1932 and 1935, he lived rough in Italy, Mexico
and Spain where he took some of his most memorable
images. Back in Paris he worked with Jean Renoir, a
film director, and ended up playing the unlikely role
of an English servant in the director's masterpiece,
“La Règle du Jeu”. He was a prisoner-of-war for three
years, and after the war was one of the founders of
the Magnum agency, a trail-blazing photographers'
co-operative. In 1948 he went on the road again,
mostly to India and China (in time for the fall of
Chiang Kai-shek), in an age when the images of
photojournalists like him filled the pages of picture
magazines that were, in the pre-television era,
hungrily viewed by millions.
Unassuming genius
For the last quarter of a century, Mr Cartier-Bresson
eschewed photography, taking only the occasional
snapshot of friends and family, and turning his
attention to drawing. (He trained originally as a
painter, his early work influenced by his friend, the
surrealist artist Max Ernst.) He maintained that he
scarcely wanted to discuss photography any more. “It's
like when you're divorced”, he said, “and people keep
asking about your former wife. There's something
indecent about it.”
He settled into a quiet life in France—in Paris and in
the small house that he owned for some 30 years in the
Lubéron, a region in the south of the country, to the
east of Avignon. And there he died on Tuesday August
3rd, just less than three weeks away from his 96th
birthday.
Mr Cartier-Bresson always said that to be a great
photographer you had to be unintrusive. “For me,
photography is very much a physical pleasure—it's like
hunting, except that we don't kill.” At the height of
his career he would stalk his subjects, and his quarry
would often be unaware that it had been captured on
film. His desire to remain out of the limelight stayed
with him to the end, including his wish to hold back
the world's photographers from the funeral of one of
the greatest of them.
His funeral was a private affair attended by some 50
family and close friends. Only after it had ended did
the French Ministry of Culture make an official
announcement of his death. And the next day, August
5th, many of his most famous images were splashed
across the front pages of newspapers the world over: a
woman slapping an informer she recognises at a
deportation camp in Dessau in 1945; Muslim women in
Srinagar, Kashmir, praying to the sun as it rises over
the distant Himalayas; and a French family picnicking
by the River Marne in 1938, almost a last pre-war
moment of stillness.
Of Mr Cartier-Bresson's death, President Jacques
Chirac said: “With him, France loses a genius
photographer, a true master, and one of the most
gifted artists of his generation.” But it is not only
France's loss. Mr Cartier-Bresson's fame, which grew
despite his efforts to avoid it, reminds a much wider
world of its persistent admiration for unassuming
genius, and of the dwindling stock of targets for that
admiration.
Dear Cristall,
In primul rand chiar de -s eu de 48 ani...sa nu ma numesti niciodata...dumneata,oi fi eu poate 4-5000 ani batran dar nu ma simt si nu este cazul nici de exceptii aici la cafenea esti egala cu mine mereu si la fel sa te consideri si tu cu mine.Si believe me nu iti scriu in sens de repros.
Johnny DEPP(nu Deep...asta suna cam porno...kiding but true).Am cunoscut personal multe mari staruri in lume,am mai scris destule despre astea...
Johnny...is a very nice person ...but smokes toooooooo much...shouldn't...he has 2 small children...he tries...to quit a little and smokes tigari de hartie adica le ruleaza singur cu tutun...dar...tot la 4 pachete ajunge pe zi!!!!!!!
Odata am avut un crush la Wynona Rider...pe vremuri a fost fata lui 5-6 ani...boy ce frumoasa e,chiar si azi!!!!
Pt. ca am lucrat si lucrez in ilustratii pt. Tvnea Americana(reclame=commercials),am sansa sa cunosc multe faime,stars in music in movies,in sports....etc.
Dar recent mi-am creat la cafenea jurnalul meu si treptat vei afla destule ,am inceput cu prezentul(ca in filme uneori)si ajung si la trecut...pe care l-am lasat in urma insa,ma ajuta sa-mi pot scrie amintirile si in final ,daca apuc ....sa si scriu romanul vietii si sa fie un film,de ce nu?
Nu e noroc ci soarta,la mijloc,NU am vrut sa dau de acesti oameni ci arta m-a dus la ei.Ori la inceput o slujba chiar!Crezi ca stiam in 1984 ca voi lucra la firma lui...Richard Pryor?Dar astea la scriou la timpul respectiv girl..NU MA invidia deci deloc.
Asa a fost sa fie,pt. unii viata e plina,pt. altii este anosta,NU ma leg de nimeni aici pt. ca stiu sa vad si de partea cealalta a gardului.
Unii au astfel de sanse,nu este o regula in viata si musai de urmat sau sa crezi ca la fel se va petrece cu altii,dar nu poti sti ce va fi maine,NICIODATA....NU stii ce va fi peste 1 minut.
Johnny....a ajuns actor din...greseala!!!!!!!Din intamplare,el o numeste greseala insa.Avea si are un f. bun prieten,Nicolas Cage(de fapt...Nicolo Copolla,de fapt nepotul marelui regizor...dar si-a schimbat numele si a reusit ca actor de unul singur...nu a vrut sa creada lumea ca a fost ridicat de unchiul lui).
Nicolas Cage l-a intrebat daca vrea sa aiba un rol in un film(Nightmare on Elm Street,primul din serii)si real a pulled some strings with Wes Craven(regizorul)
Si asa John a ajuns sa fie acel tinerel care e sucked inside the bed,in one dream by Freddy Krugger.Apoi pt. ca real e un tip MISTO ca tot ce vrei sa recunoastem,si baietii ce poate citesc astea ca e frumos a ajuns in ...21 Jump Street...si NU i-a placut deloc,a URAT acel serial Tv.,dar...avea contract...deh...dar de ajuns.Mai alta data altele.
NU MA mai numi cu "dumneata",sunt prietenul tau doar.Imi vine sa ma iau la bataie acum.Carje si baston?Mai Cristall,am doar 14-16 ani in mine,spune-mi cine loves Ozzy,Motorhead,Metallica,Judas Priest?I am forever a teenager.
Forever young.Chiar daca mor maine,tot sunt de 16 ani.I never grow old,I grow young!
Mai vorbim.
DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY,
LOVE&PEACE,
Ozzy
Intrebare:
Hi, I am an instructor at a Fine Art College in FL in the Photography & Digital Imaging dept. and parents want to know how their childern (students) will make a living after they graduate. I am researching that question and would appreciate any help you have. Are their websites that will sell your images to catalog companies or to stores like Walmart (example) and how would you go about pricing your work wholesale?
Raspuns:
Seeing as how this thread has just been "observed" but no one responded, let me offer you my observations. First of all, I am not a professional. I used to be, but not with Fine Art prints, with Weddings and Commercial work.
Now, I figure folks here fall into one of two camps...
1) They really aren't able to survive on selling their artistic images alone and do other things like commercial assignments, photojournalism assignments, and photo seminars to suppliment their income.
2) They really do make a bundle on selling their photos and don't relish revealing their hard earned marketing wisdom to competition in a very small marketplace.
Very few can survive on Fine Art photography. Very Few. Those that do are simultaneously artistic masters and superb business people.
You will probably hate me for saying this, but, anyone entering college for a Fine Arts degree with an attitude of getting wealthy is woefully misinformed. There isn't anything about that curriculum that teaches you how to make it in the real world. On the other hand, you could use the degree to become a truly good photographer, but you are still left on your own for capitalizing on that asset.
I would guess that's not what you want to tell the parents.
Dupa cum multi dintre voi stiti saptamina asta se desfasoara conventia partidului Republican. Aseara Arnold Schwarzenegger a vorbit, iar astazi toate programele de radio si televizor si toate ziarele sau concentrat asupra speech-ului lui Arnold. Cei care doresc sa afle ce a spus mai jos puteti citi speech-ul lui. Tot aici puteti afla cine sint Republicanii si care este platforma partidului Republican. Citire placuta.
****************************************
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Thank you.
What a greeting! This is like winning an Oscar! ...As if I would know!
Speaking of acting, one of my movies was called "True Lies." It's what the Democrats should have called their convention.
My fellow Americans, this is an amazing moment for me. To think that a once-scrawny boy from Austria could grow up to become Governor of California and stand in Madison Square Garden to speak on behalf of the President of the United States that is an immigrant's dream. It is the American dream.
I was born in Europe ...and I've traveled all over the world. I can tell you that there is no place, no country, more compassionate more generous more accepting and more welcoming than the United States of America.
As long as I live, I will never forget that day 21 years ago when I raised my hand and took the oath of citizenship.
Do you know how proud I was? I was so proud that I walked around with an American flag around my shoulders all day long.
Tonight, I want to talk about why I'm even more proud to be an American -why I'm proud to be a Republican and why I believe this country is in good hands.
When I was a boy, the Soviets occupied part of Austria. I saw their tanks in the streets .I saw communism with my own eyes. I remember the fear we had when we had to cross into the Soviet sector. Growing up, we were told, "Don't look the soldiers in the eye. Look straight ahead." It was a common belief that Soviet soldiers could take a man out of his own car and ship him off to the Soviet Union as slave labor.
My family didn't have a car -- but one day we were in my uncle's car. It was near dark as we came to a Soviet checkpoint. I was a little boy, I wasn't an action hero back then, and I remember how scared I was that the soldiers would pull my father or my uncle out of the car, and I'd never see him again. My family and so many others lived in fear of the Soviet boot. Today, the world no longer fears the Soviet Union and it is because of the United States of America!
As a kid I saw the socialist country that Austria became after the Soviets left. I love Austria and I love the Austrian people - but I always knew America was the place for me.
In school, when the teacher would talk about America, I would daydream about coming here. I would sit for hours watching American movies transfixed by my heroes like John Wayne. Everything about America seemed so big to me so open, so possible.
I finally arrived here in 1968.I had empty pockets, but I was full of dreams. The presidential campaign was in full swing. I remember watching the Nixon and Humphrey presidential race on TV. A friend who spoke German and English, translated for me. I heard Humphrey saying things that sounded like socialism which is what I had just left. But then I heard Nixon speak. He was talking about free enterprise, getting government off your back, lowering taxes, and strengthening the military. Listening to Nixon speak sounded more like a breath of fresh air.
I said to my friend, "What party is he?" My friend said, "He's a Republican." I said, "Then I am a Republican!" And I've been a Republican ever since! And trust me, in my wife's family, that's no small achievement! I'm proud to belong to the party of Abraham Lincoln, the party of Teddy Roosevelt, the party of Ronald Reagan and the party of George W. Bush.
To my fellow immigrants listening tonight, I want you to know how welcome you are in this party. We Republicans admire your ambition. We encourage your dreams. We believe in your future. One thing I learned about America is that if you work hard and play by the rules, this country is truly open to you. You can achieve anything.
Everything I have my career my success my family I owe to America. In this country, it doesn't make any difference where you were born. It doesn't make any difference who your parents were. It doesn't make any difference if, like me, you couldn't even speak English until you were in your twenties.
America gave me opportunities, and my immigrant dreams came true. I want other people to get the same chances I did, the same opportunities. And I believe they can. That's why I believe in this country, that's why I believe in this party and that's why I believe in this President.
Now, many of you out there tonight are "Republican" like me in your hearts and in your beliefs. Maybe you're from Guatemala. Maybe you're from the Philippines. Maybe Europe or the Ivory Coast. Maybe you live in Ohio Pennsylvania or New Mexico. And maybe just maybe you don't agree with this party on every single issue. I say to you tonight I believe that's not only okay that's what's great about this country. Here
we can respectfully disagree and still be patriotic still be American and still be good Republicans
My fellow immigrants, my fellow Americans how do you know if you are a Republican? I'll tell you how.
If you believe that government should be accountable to the people, not the people to the government...then you are a Republican! If you believe a person should be treated as an individual, not as a member of an interest group... then you are a Republican! If you believe your family knows how to spend your money better than the government does... then you are a Republican! If you believe our educational system should be held accountable for the progress of our children ... then you are a Republican! If you believe this country, not the United Nations, is the best hope of democracy in the world ... then you are a Republican! And, ladies and gentlemen ...if you believe we must be fierce and relentless and terminate terrorism ... then you are a Republican!
There is another way you can tell you're a Republican. You have faith in free enterprise, faith in the resourcefulness of the American people ...and faith in the U.S. economy. To those critics who are so pessimistic about our economy, I say: Don't be economic girlie men!
The U.S. economy remains the envy of the world. We have the highest economic growth of any of the world's major industrialized nations. Don't you remember the pessimism of twenty years ago when the critics said Japan and Germany were overtaking the U.S.? Ridiculous!
Now they say India and China are overtaking us. Don't you believe it! We may hit a few BUMPS -- but America always moves ahead! That's what Americans do!
We move prosperity ahead. We move freedom ahead. We move people ahead. Under President Bush, and Vice President Cheney, America's economy is moving ahead in spite of a recession they inherited and in spite of the attack on our homeland.
Now, the other party says there are two Americas. Don't believe that either. I've visited our troops in Iraq, Kuwait, Bosnia, Germany, and all over the world. I've visited our troops in California, where they train before they go overseas. And I've visited our military hospitals. And I can tell you this: Our young men and women in uniform do not believe there are two Americas!
They believe we are one America and they are fighting for it! We are one America - and President Bush is defending it with all his heart and soul!
That's what I admire most about the President. He's a man of perseverance.
He's a man of inner strength. He is a leader who doesn't flinch, doesn't waiver, does not back down. My fellow Americans, make no mistake about it terrorism is more insidious than communism, because it yearns to destroy not just the individual but the entire international order.
The President didn't go into Iraq because the polls told him it was popular. As a matter of fact, the polls said just the opposite. But leadership isn't about polls. It's about making decisions you think are right and then standing behind those decisions. That's why America is safer with George W. Bush as President.
He knows you don't reason with terrorists. You defeat them. He knows you can't reason with people blinded by hate. They hate the power of the individual. They hate the progress of women. They hate the religious freedom of others. They hate the liberating breeze of democracy. But, ladies and gentlemen, their hate is no match for America's decency.
We're the America that sends out Peace Corps volunteers to teach village children.
We're the America that sends out missionaries and doctors to raise up the poor and the sick. We're the America that gives more than any other country, to fight AIDS in Africa and the developing world. And we're the America that fights not for imperialism but for human rights and democracy.
You know, When the Germans brought down the Berlin Wall America's determination helped wield the sledgehammers. When that lone, young Chinese man stood in front of those tanks in Tiananmen Square America's hopes stood with him. And when
Nelson Mandela smiled in election victory after all those years in prison America celebrated, too.
We are still the lamp lighting the world especially for those who struggle. No matter in what labor camp they slave no matter in what injustice they're trapped -- they hear our call ... they see our light ... and they feel the pull of our freedom. They come here as I did because they believe. They believe in US.
They come because their hearts say to them, as mine did, "If only I can get to America." Someone once wrote -"There are those who say that freedom is nothing but a dream." They are right. It's the American dream.
No matter the nationality, no matter the religion, no matter the ethnic background, America brings out the best in people. And as Governor of the great state of California -- I see the best in Americans every day ... our police, our firefighters our nurses, doctors and teachers our parents.
And what about the extraordinary men and women who have volunteered to fight for the United States of America! I have such great respect for them and their heroic families.
Let me tell you about the sacrifice and commitment I've seen firsthand. In one of the military hospitals I visited, I met a young guy who was in bad shape. He'd lost a leg had a hole in his stomach ... his shoulder had been shot through.
I could tell there was no way he could ever return to combat. But when I asked him, "When do you think you'll get out of the hospital?" He said, "Sir, in three weeks." And do you know what he said to me then? He said he was going to get a new leg ... and get some therapy ... and then he was going back to Iraq to serve alongside his buddies! He grinned at me and said, "Arnold ... I'll be back!"
Ladies and gentlemen, America is back! back from the attack on our homeland- back from the attack on our economy back from the attack on our way of life. We're back because of the perseverance, character and leadership of the 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush.
My fellow Americans ...I want you to know that I believe with all my heart that America remains "the great idea" that inspires the world. It's a privilege to be born here. It's an honor to become a citizen here. It's a gift to raise your family here to vote here and to live here.
Our president George W. Bush has worked hard to protect and preserve the American dream for all of us. That's why I say ... send - him - back to Washington for four more years!
Thank you, America -- and God bless you all!
Este adevarat ca avind business-ul tau este cel mai bun lucru, mai ales ca toti banii care ii faci iti ramin tie. Si noi ne-am gindit sa ne deschidem firma noastra, dar in California regulamentele si taxele pentru small business sint destul de capricioase si necesita mai mult efort. In orice caz incetul cu incetul vrem sa ne indreptam si noi in directia asta. Cind te gindesti ca proiectele la care lucreaza sotul numai unul costa in jur de 10, 15, 50 de mii de dolari, (depinde daca lucreaza la ele o saptamina sau o luna) iti dai seama ce profit se face. Singura chestie e ca trebuie sa-ti faci reclama ca sa-ti aduni clienti. Asta n-ar fi o problema, dar citeodata comoditatea are cuvintul prea mult. Plus de asta ne-ar trebuii un desenator pentru ca sotul sa se ocupe numai cu calculele de structura. Oricum deocamdata sintem foarte bine unde sintem si nu ne forteaza nimeni si nimic. Dar niciodata nu stii ce-o sa-ti aduca ziua de miine.
Edelweiss...
Edelweiss...
Every morning you greet me
Small and white, clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever...
Edelweiss...
Edelweiss...
Bless my homeland forever...
I Will Survive - de Belle la: 05/11/2004 00:41:24
(la: Femeia)
At first I was afraid, I was petrified,
When you said you had 10 inches Lord I almost died,
But I'd spent oh so many years just waiting for a man that long,
That I grew strong,
And I knew that I could take you on. . .
But there you are,
Another lie,
I was ready for a big mac and you've bought me a French fry,
I should have known that it was bull#!*^,
Just a sad pathetic dream,
Should have known there was no anaconda lurking in those jeans.
Go on now go,
Walk out the door,
Don't you promise me 10 inches then turn up with only 4,
Weren't you a prat to think I wouldn't catch you out,
Don't you know we' re only joking when we say size doesn't count.
(Chorus)
I will survive, I will survive,
Cos as long as I have batteries,
My sex life is gonna thrive,
I will always have good sex with a handful of latex,
I will survive, I will survive. . .hey . hey
It took all my self control not to laugh out loud,
When I saw your little weiner standing tall and proud,
But to hell with all your ego's and to hell with all your needs,
Now I'm saving all my lovin for a cordless multispeed,
Go on now go,
Just make a dash,
Last time I saw a prick that small was watching Gladstone run nude hash,
I should have asked for confirmation,
Should have asked for referees,
Then I wouldn't have you waving that wee winky thing at me.
Go on now go,
Just hit the track,
Don't you bring me home no tiddlers,
Cos I'll always throw them back,
The only thing that I could do with a prick as small as yours,
Is to stick it with a tooth pick Dip it in tomato sauce.
(Chorus)
Go on now go,
Get out of my sight,
I'm going back to my appliance,
Cos I know it's length is right,
And if I ever see your tiny tockley at my door,
You'll be counting up your inches as you pick them off the floor.
Go on now Go!
